Certificate, Diploma and Higher Diploma courses in Chinese Medicine Dispensing have been successfully registered as qualified training courses under the Chinese Medicine Development Fund。Starting from September 2020, eligible applicants will receive 90% tuition fee subsidy upon successful completion of the course approved by the FUND。Two years, seize the moment!

The dispensing and formulation of Traditional Chinese medicine is a professional and technical work, which directly affects the safety and efficacy of drug use。This course is offered at the request of the Chinese Medicine Practitioners Association of Hong Kong and the Chinese medicine dispensing profession。Through the study, the trainees will systematically master the professional knowledge and skills of TCM dispensing, improve their professional level, and make due contributions to the health cause of Hong Kong people。

Course structure

This course is the first stage of the "Higher Diploma in TCM Compounding". Students who have completed the first stage of the course with a attendance rate of 70% or above, attended all the internships, passed all the examinations and achieved satisfactory results will be awarded the certificate of TCM Dispensing by the School of Continuing and Professional Education of the University of Hong Kong.。

Upon completion of the course, students should be able to:

  • Explain the basic theoretical knowledge of TCM
  • This paper describes the identification characteristics of common Chinese medicines, the management and rescue methods of toxic Chinese medicines and the management of Chinese medicine pharmacy
  • Perform basic duties of the junior pharmacist

Online registration is not available for this course. Applicants should bring the original and copy of relevant academic credentials to any of the enrolment centres of the Institute。For non-Hong Kong permanent residents, please bring along the original and copy of document of identity for Visa purposes。

Method of payment
1. Cash, EPS, WeChat Pay or Alipay

Applicants can Pay their tuition fees by cash, EPS, WeChat Pay or Alipay in person at any of the school's enrolment centres。

2. Check or cashier's check

If paid by crossed cheque or cashier order, payable to "School of Continuing and Professional Development, University of Hong Kong"。Please write the name of the course and applicant's name on the back of the cheque。  You can:

  • Submit crossed cheque, application form and supporting documents in person at hkCEE enrolment Centres;
  • Please mark "apply for enrolment" on the envelope. However, the Institute is not responsible for the loss of cheques due to postal errors。
3. VISA ╱ Mastercard

Payment can be made with VISA or Mastercard (including "hku Mastercard") at any enrolment centre of hku。10 months of interest-free instalments for hku college of professional and development Mastercard holders with enrolment of hk $2,000 are eligible。For details, please contact the staff of the College Enrolment Centre。

4. Online Payment Service

Most open enrolment programmes (on a first-come-first-served basis) and individual qualification programmes provide online registration/registration services. Applicants can use PPS (not available on mobile phones), VISA or Mastercard onlinePay the enrolment fee or tuition fee for the course。Apart from the above payment methods, students can also Pay their tuition fees by Online WeChat Pay, Online Alipay or FPS if there are Online services for their diploma courses. Matters needing attention:

  • If you apply for a course, the course will start within 5 working days. To avoid post delay, you are advised to register in person at the College enrolment Centre and avoid paying by cheque。

  • All fees paid are non-refundable except in exceptional circumstances as determined by the Institute (e.g. courses cancelled due to insufficient enrolment)。如獲學院批准退還款項,以現金、易辦事、微信支付、支付寶、支票或繳費靈(只限網上付款)方式繳交之款項,將以支票退款;以信用卡繳交之款項,退款將直接退還到支付款項時使用的信用卡戶口。
  • There may be additional fees for individual courses in addition to the tuition fees listed on our website. Please contact the relevant academic staff for details。
  • Tuition fees and places are not transferable。Once accepted, students are not allowed to transfer to other courses. However, the College may exercise discretion in special circumstances。A handling fee of HK $120 will be charged once the application is approved。
  • The Institute will issue a payment receipt to the applicant upon receipt of the payment. However, the Institute is not responsible for any loss of the payment receipt in the mail。
  • If students wish to apply for a certificate of payment, please return the completed application form together with a crossed cheque and a self-addressed envelope with sufficient postage to the Institute。The application fee for each receipt is HK $30。Cheque made payable to "School of Professional and Continuing Education, University of Hong Kong"。
